Vacation Time

It has come to my attention that it now time for the MMG staff to shut down operations. It is time for my trip to upsidedania, in the Starch Mountains of lower upper Sardineeah. I will go to my cave and pray at the altar of the Navel orange. Just have to get out of this place now. Time for some hybernation. Given up on any plans while there. Just plan to meditate and observe Naval law.

I will take my laptop with me but the signal is not strong so don't expect too many posts in the coming days. I will be contemplating my navel and solving the problems of the world. Like: The lack of political parties in the United States. Both are twins. Like Tweedel Dee and Tweedel Dumb. I think it is now time to sew the seeds of a peaceful political revolution. The clowns in Washington now are all the same, they smell the same. Anyway, it's time for a real third or even fourth party to start up. Make the two political parties take note. I am tired of people saying the are independent(is there an independent party?) and then voting for one of the two major parties. Time for action now. I don't know how to start it but it is time!
Care for some tea?

More whenever and when I come down from the mountain. As always yours, ASM

Sunny Saturday

What a wonderful day. No work. No RTC. Looking forward to dinner with family. Very excited about going to "Stars on Ice" tomorrow. Our favorite ice dancing team, Emily Samuelson and Evan Bates are skating in the show. Wahoo! They are our local Olympians and World competitors. Known Evan for over ten years. All for now.

Happy May Day!! Let's all dance around the May pole together.

Freaked

Oh, it was so hard to get out of bed this morning. Lucky I have a flex/time schedule or I would be in deep do-do. Still haven't woken(the old woken bucket, that old woken bucket..) up fully yet. Not much happening at the office, same old same old. Caught flack from RTC about the state of my office. I am getting tired of wading through papers on the floor too, but just don't clean it up. Must be something in my character-Goofy!

Having eye muscle surgery in a little over a week. Excited about it. Doc Rhettna says I have to wear a red eye shade for a week after the procedure. Keeps the harmful rays out of my eyes. Hate to part with the GES, but it's only a week. My eyes have been fluttering downward to the beat of music by the "Strawberry Alarm Clock" for a couple of years now. Makes reading a real joy-not.

Have to play IT person today. Move photos from one computer to another. Easy they say-right. That's what they told me when I helped with the digital camera. In any case, I have blocked off the rest of the day for geek work. Also will try to hook up one of the office computers to our network. Have an idea how it might work, we'll see. I'll let you know how it all comes out in tomorrow's edition.

Circulation is up so RTC is very happy. Had to hire additional carriers! They are doing well on their jobs too. OK, guess it is time to start the office clean up and IT work. See y'all later. Don't you just love the sound of lawn mowers and those things they use to blow the grass?

Musings

Back in the office. Have been wondering and thinking about public transportation. I mean in some cities it's great but where I live it is very spotty. No, it is not run by Dalmatians.

Several years ago I use to ride the bus everyday. It was wonderful. Now that I live in the country, it has become more difficult. I live just a couple of miles from a major US highway but nothing comes down this way. I have to drive three miles north, to a shopping center to connect with the bus.

There are several subdivisions and mansions out here and I cannot believe I am the only one who is pondering this question. Think of all the cars driving to work each morning. It is staggering!! I'm not sure what the answer is. Well, if I drive, I can catch a bus. Could start to lobby our local politicians, if I could find one. Perhaps, in another lifetime.

On the other hand, it is very difficult becoming a geek. I have over the past month or so become very interested in my computer and all the high tech world out there. I am tired of just clicking on icons.

I found out what RSS feeds are. Thought it was something you fed to hogs. I guess the only way for me to become more geekish is try different things, read, and just explore on my own. Oh yes, asking questions is good too.

Not much going on at MMG today. RTC is at an editors convention in a town named Hell. Good place for him to go to. Just kidding, love the guy. That's about awl for now.

Oh yes, there was NO ICE, ergo no fishing. Not sure where the shack is now. May have gone over the falls. Local authorities have been issued a BOLO.

Saturday

Going ice fishing with the missus today. Have to unwind from the frenzy of yesterday. Wasn't Frenzy the name of an Alfred Hitchcock movie? If not, it should have been. Have to look it up in my Funk & Wagnols.

See you Monday. Gears in the car, time to go. Bye

Note: My editor, RTC, called me back to the office to correct post. Just hooked a big one at our ice fishing shack. Taken off my green eyeshade and headed back to fishing and the missus. Have a good weekend.

Next week: Thoughts on public transportation!
